The city of Ghent has the ambition to implement cleantech solutions and stimulate circular economy by 2030. We are doing this by establishing and participating actively in Cleantech Cluster Regio Gent. We are able to bring in expertise from this network into the Upcycle project and disseminate the approach and business cases in the Cleantech partnership.
Furthermore, Ghent is lead partner in different European projects on material efficiency and the reuse of materials: among which PLASTICITY (Interreg 2 Seas) and URBCON (NWE). In Plasticity we cooperate with The Hague. We will mutually share expertise and tools, and we will invite Upcycle partners to the PlastiCity dissemination events.
